As the Amazon Prime Video series continues without showrunner and creator Neil Gaiman, the third season of
Good Omens, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, will only have one, somewhat longer episode.
According to Variety, Prime Video has confirmed that Season 3 will consist of a single 90-minute episode, indicating that the third and final season will be

significantly shorter. Given that the first two seasons each included six episodes, that is only 40 minutes longer than the typical 50-minute episodes that have
been shown thus far. Currently on hold, production on the remaining Good Omens is anticipated to resume in early 2025. The release date of the last episode is unknown.
Gaiman, widely known for writing books like Coraline, Stardust, and The Sandman, announced last month that he would be taking a break from work on
Good Omens Season 3. The announcement came amid many women’s claims of sexual abuse against the founder.
Variety now claims that although Gaiman contributed to the finale episode’s writing, he will not be working on it again when production picks back
up next year. Additionally, he will no longer appear in the last episode’s credits as an executive producer.
After a successful run on Prime Video over the past few years, Good Omens’ termination is unexpected. Originally intended to be a miniseries, the show was given a second season renewal after receiving great reviews from viewers (we rated Season 1 an 8/10). Both fans of the original work and Gaiman, who had previously stated that he didn’t want Season 2 to happen, were taken aback by the news of a continuance for the adaptation.
