In a heartfelt address, Arizona State University (ASU) head football coach Kenny Dillingham expressed profound
gratitude and pride toward the Sun Devils community. Reflecting on the team’s
remarkable journey, Dillingham emphasized the collective effort that propelled ASU to its current success.
“This season has been a testament to our players’ dedication, our staff’s unwavering commitment, and the
unyielding support from our fans,” Dillingham remarked. “Together, we’ve defied expectations and showcased the true spirit of Sun Devil football.”
Under Dillingham’s leadership, the Sun Devils achieved an impressive 11–2 record, culminating in a decisive 45–19
victory over Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship. This triumph secured ASU’s
first conference title since 2007 and earned them a coveted spot in the College Football Playoff.
Dillingham’s connection with his players has been pivotal. He noted, “When your players run your program, you’re good. Their maturity and leadership have been instrumental in our success.”
The coach also acknowledged the challenges faced, including overcoming preseason predictions that placed ASU at the bottom of the Big 12.
“None of that mattered,” Dillingham stated. “This was storybook stuff that should put our program on the national stage.”
Looking ahead, Dillingham remains focused on the upcoming challenges in the College Football Playoff. “Our journey is far from over,” he asserted. “We have more to achieve, and I have full confidence in our team’s ability to rise to the occasion.”
In closing, Dillingham extended his heartfelt thanks to the Sun Devils community. “To our fans, alumni, and supporters: your belief in us fuels our drive. Let’s continue this journey together, united as Sun Devils.”
