Critical! Ten questions about the Canadiens’ line-up.

The Canadiens’ training camp will begin in a few weeks. Although September seems far off now, it will actually arrive rather soon. After that, Martin St-Louis will need to watch out for a few things, and I want to talk about them.

Furthermore, since we are discussing from the perspective of a coach, we are not transacting; rather, we are only making due with the current situation. With the Canadiens currently in their lineup, here are ten or so things to watch out for training camp.

How much longer till the “real” Kirby Dach appears?

As you are aware, a large number of Montrealers think that the Habs would have won more games in 2023–2024 if Kirby Dach had been on the team.

But it will take him a few weeks, if not months, to regain his confidence in his knee and return to his previous self. We therefore question when he will start to trust himself, without being able to provide even a partial response.

Which center should Cole Caufield play with, Juraj Slafkovsky or Cole Caufield?

Everyone agrees that the two men will be Martin St. Louis’ two reliable wingers for the upcoming campaign because of their eight-year contracts, which they signed in 2023 and 2024. But the question is whether both individuals will play with Nick Suzuki again this season (which is a possibility on the table) or whether one of them will join Dach on the other top-6 line, providing him ammunition to succeed.
