Report: Tottenham could soon pocket millions after club decide to cash in on midfielder.

Marcus Edwards’ stint at Sporting could come to an end this summer, as the winger has recently been linked with a return to the Premier League.

Marcus Edwards may be seeking for a new club this summer

Football.London originally reported Tottenham’s interest in re-signing former academy graduate Marcus Edwards in late May. The club’s homegrown quota, according to the article, was a driving factor in the move, as was Spurs’ 35% sell-on clause, which made the purchase cheaper.

Tottenham and Crystal Palace expressed interest in the attacker in June, according to Portuguese news site Record. According to the Record, Edwards was more pleased about returning to North London and less excited about playing for Palace in the south of the capital.

Sporting Lisbon is already preparing for Edwards’ exit.

According to A Bola’s newest report on Thursday, Sporting has made it known that they want to trade Edwards. Sporting boss Ruben Amorim is said to have been pleased by 17-year-old winger Geovany Quenda, to the point where the team’s youth product is now anticipated to be elevated to the first squad if Edwards leaves. A Bola revealed that the recent first-team training performances of Quenda indicate that Sporting are now willing to negotiate the exit of Edwards for a fee of €25/30 million.
