Everton, West Ham, and Fulham have held conversations with £30 million former Leeds United transfer target.

Matt O'Riley

Leeds were widely connected with the midfielder last summer, with sources indicating they made a £10 million approach for his services. However, as the deadline passed, he remained on Celtic’s roster. Reports of interest from Elland Road revived earlier this year, though the club’s failure to secure promotion to the Premier League may have dashed any chances of signing the 23-year-old. He appears to be in high demand, with several clubs reportedly interested in signing him. According to HITC, Everton, West Ham, Fulham, and Brentford have all conducted conversations with the Denmark international. Southampton is also rumored to be interested, but they are not willing to meet Celtic’s £30 million asking price.

The Saints, commanded by O’Riley’s former Milton Keynes Dons manager Russell Martin, are thought to be willing to spend £20 million. O’Riley’s reputation has soared in the last year, and he has established himself as Celtic’s primary midfielder. Despite being born in England. He plays for Denmark on an international level and was promoted to the senior squad last season. Since joining Celtic in January 2022, he has made 121 appearances and scored 27 goals. During that period, he has 34 assists and three Scottish Premiership victories.
