Notre Dame Football Legend In Pain as ‘little brother’ Tua Tagovailoa’ Concussion Gets Severe.

Since Thursday night, numerous opinions have surfaced regarding Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s future after suffering another concussion.

Among the voices, former Notre Dame football standout Manti Te’o offered a thoughtful and genuine perspective.

On Good Morning Football, Te’o shared his concerns about Tagovailoa’s well-being, drawing from his own experiences with concussions throughout his career.

When asked whether Tagovailoa should retire or attempt a comeback, Te’o emphasized his primary concern for the Dolphins star.

“After he suffered the concussion against the Bengals, I wanted him to walk away,” Te’o began.

“Watching him being carted off the field was difficult. It’s hard to see someone you’ve known since they were young go through that.”

Te’o highlighted the harsh reality of concussions, stressing that they’re not just temporary setbacks.

“A concussion doesn’t just ‘ring your bell.’ For someone who’s been in that situation, like me, I don’t even know if Tua’s fully aware as he’s walking off the field.”

Te’o shared a personal anecdote, illustrating the lasting impact of concussions. “There are clips of me after concussions, walking off the stadium and into the locker room,

and I don’t remember those walks. It’s like I woke up. I recall a playoff game against the Broncos where I got knocked out in the second quarter.”

“I got up, walked into the locker room, and didn’t come to until the fourth quarter, with two minutes left.

I was sitting there, trying to figure out why I was in Denver?” Te’o’s experience underscores the severity of concussions.

While refraining from advising Tagovailoa to retire, Te’o emphasized the importance of prioritizing his life beyond football. “I want the best for Tua, the man, the father. He’s a father of two now.”

As someone who understands the struggles, Te’o urged Tagovailoa to make an informed decision, considering his well-being and family.

Te’o’s heartfelt perspective provides a unique insight into the challenges Tagovailoa faces.
