Shocking 🚨: Holloway,Broberg has been removed from Oilers sheet

Fans of the Oilers were concerned when the roster was updated, but the removal of Holloway and Broberg is probably just routine.

When it was discovered that Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg had been removed from the team’s internal roster on their official website, a flurry of speculation swept through the Edmonton Oilers’ fan base.

This move was made ahead of the possibility that the Oilers would match the St. Louis Blues, which sparked speculation that the team might be getting ready to let both players go.

Nevertheless, it appears that this is a false alarm. Kevin McCurdy pointed out that the websites of several other teams’ top restricted free agents (RFAs), including Jeremy Swayman, Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Matty Beniers, and Cole Perfetti, were also missing.

McCurdy clarified that the Oilers’ plans for Broberg and Holloway are not reflected in this, but rather that it is most likely an administrative update.

The Oilers haven’t decided to let Broberg and Holloway walk just because they weren’t on the roster. Although the team might be able to, no official announcement has been made.

Recent moves by Edmonton, such as the transfer of Cody Ceci and the possibility of putting Evander Kane on long-term injured reserve, suggest that the team is freeing up cap space to match. It is anticipated that both Holloway and Broberg will be added back to the roster on Tuesday if the Oilers were making room to keep both of them.

Fans shouldn’t jump to any conclusions until the team makes an official announcement. In point of fact, the Oilers might already be working on something else before Tuesday morning.

While fans were understandably concerned about the implications of Holloway and Broberg’s absence from the roster up until that point, the fact that their names were not on the roster was merely an administrative issue and did not indicate that the promising young players were about to leave the team.
